Obituary

Patricia Sandifer Barber
May 14, 1950 - February 25, 2019



Patricia Sandifer Barber, age 68 and a resident of Thomas, died early Monday morning February 25, 2019 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. She was a Family Advocate for the Franklinton Head Start early-childhood education program for 40 years. Pat was a longtime member of Bible Baptist Church that formerly sang with the church choir. She enjoyed taking care of her many green plants and beautiful flowers. She loved watching and feeding the many hummingbirds and butterflies that visited her yard each day. Pat also loved watching her grandchildren, who called her MiMi, play the sports they loved and the dance recitals they performed in.

Survived by: Husband of 48 years: Bobby Barber of Thomas; 2 Daughters and Sons in law: Kim and Trent Miller of Thomas, Kristy and James Creel of Enon; 4 Grandchildren: Austin Miller, Dustin Miller, Ashley Miller, Peyton Creel; Sisters in law and Brothers in law: Linda Sandifer of Addis, Johnny Barber of Warnerton, Donald and Sarah Barber of Hackley; Special Aunt: Joyce Creel of Franklinton; Also numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, her parents Travis Sandifer and Charlsie Owens Sandifer, a brother Edward Sandifer, father in law and mother in law Frank and Margaine Barber, sister in law Janelle Bates.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Wednesday February 27th from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Visitation will continue Thursday at Bible Baptist Church (29567 Hwy. 424) from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the church at 2:00 pm Thursday with Rev. Harold Gaddy and Rev. David Easterling officiating. Burial will follow in Thomas Cemetery.
