Mandeville Man Dies in Motorcycle Crash on I-12

Thursday evening (February 14, 2019), Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop L responded to a

single vehicle fatal crash involving a motorcycle on I-12 eastbound near LA 59 in St. Tammany Parish. The crash has claimed the life of 53-year-old Edward E. Schwarz of Mandeville.

Troopers determined that the crash occurred as Schwarz was riding a 1997 Honda Gold Wing motorcycle eastbound on I-12 and, for reasons still under investigation, the motorcycle traveled beyond the right side of the roadway and crashed into a tree. Schwarz was transported to Lakeview Regional Medical Center. He was pronounced deceased shortly after his arrival.

Initial findings have indicated to Troopers that a medical condition could have been a contributing factor.
