Franklinton Man Accused of Selling Vehicles He Didn't Own

Mark Anthony Braud (23) of Franklinton was arrested Monday (February 4, 2019) by the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office after they received several complaints that Braud would advertise
for sale vehicles that he did not own. After receiving payment for a vehicle, he then would reportedly fail to deliver the vehicle to the purchaser.

Braud was charged with Theft Between $5000 and $25000 and released the following day after posting at $3,500 bond.

The investigation into Braud’s illegal activities continues. Any person who has been a victim of Mark Anthony Braud is asked to contact Washington Parish detectives at (985) 661-6024.

“Always know the person with whom you are doing business,” said Sheriff Randy Seal. “Never give another person your hard-earned money until you are satisfied that the transaction is legitimate. Honest citizens of Washington Parish never deserve to be defrauded by a crook. Always be alert when conducting a monetary transaction”.
