Wanted Sex Offender Apprehended in St. Tammany

A St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office detective, who is assigned to the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Apprehension Task Force, and deputies assigned to the STPSO Operations Division assisted the U.S. Marshals Thursday (January 17, 2019) in the apprehension of a wanted sex offender.

Kevin Scott Marcantel (32) was wanted out of Jefferson Davis Parish on a warrant for failure to register as a sex offender. He is a known gang member with a violent history, and has ties to St. Tammany Parish.

Marcantel was located shortly before 5:30 p.m. in the vicinity of the Tammany Trace between Abita Springs and Covington. He was taken into custody and was booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail as a fugitive. Additional charges are pending.
