Human Remains Found Near I-10 Near Slidell

UPDATE: Slidell Police on Human Remains Identity
Slidell Police believe the human remains belong to that of Tony “Tiger” Bennett, a missing man who disappeared in early December of 2017. Bennett was last seen at Motel 6 in Slidell on December 13, 2017, which is in the vicinity where the human remains were found. Certain property found near the body led detectives to believe the remains belonged to Bennett. However, it is important to note DNA tests are being conducted in order to definitively identify the body.

Slidell Police investigators are working closely with the STPSO and the St. Tammany Parish Coroner’s Office to determine manner and cause of death, as well as to confirm the identity of the body.

Original Story
What appeared to be human remains were discovered by a Louisiana Department of Transportation
and Development (LADOTD) work crew Tuesday (January 22, 2019) adjacent to I-10 and Gause Blvd. near Slidell. Workers with LADOTD were clearing debris along the interstate right-of-way when they observed what appeared to be badly decomposed human remains and called 911.

Responding deputies and investigators have turned the remains over to the St. Tammany Parish Coroner's Office for identification. There were no immediate signs indicating foul play and the investigation is ongoing.

No additional information is available at this time.
