Slidell Police are asking for your help with identifying two thieves who stole a military veteran’s motorized scooter and cell phone. The 75-year-old victim went shopping at Walmart (39142 Natchez Drive) on November 15, 2018 around 5:00 p.m., and inadvertently left behind his cell phone and motorized scooter in the parking lot. After returning home, the military veteran realized he left his belongings in the parking lot and quickly returned to the store. It was discovered shortly thereafter that someone had stolen both his scooter and cell phone.
Surveillance video from the store shows that a male and female spotted the scooter in the parking lot, and initially did the right thing. They brought the scooter inside of the store and dropped the property off at the customer service department. The couple shopped, purchased several items, and left the store.
However, the couple returned and apparently decided to steal the scooter and cell phone. They were seen on video leaving the store with the scooter, and loading it into the back their vehicle.
The male suspect is white, over 6 feet tall, and has an above average build. The female is white, appears to be short (between 5’5” – 5’8” tall) and has a heavy build. The motorized scooter is valued at over $1,000 and is red and black. The cell phone is described to be a black Apple iPhone 6.
