Mrs. Lille Mae Curtis of Bogalusa, Louisiana departed from her earthly house to her home in glory at the age of 85 on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at her residence. She was born on February 8, 1933 to the union of Mrs. Martha Ann Elijah Washington and Mr. John Dykes.
Mrs. Lille Curtis was always quiet and a very caring person. She was a devoted member of Metropolitan Baptist Church her affiliations included: Sunday School Member, Senior Mission, and once served as a member of the Senior Choir.
She leaves to cherish her memories; one son, Donnie Curtis; two daughters, Lorraine Austin (Martin, Sr.) of Bogalusa, LA and Sherlon M. Curtis of Brandon, MS; five grandchildren, Shaneika Merrill of Slidell, LA, Keith Merrill, Marvin Austin, Jr., Bradley T. Austin, all of Bogalusa, LA, and Cory Davenport of Brandon, MS; two special granddaughters, Shondarion Joseph of Bogalusa, LA and Simone Young of Covington, LA; five great grandchildren, Jenequa Thomas of Beaumont, TX, Sydney Ewing of Slidell, LA, Jaylen Brickmore, Matthew Austin, Asher Austin all of Bogalusa, LA, and Kayla Thomas of Baton Rouge, LA; one sister, Eva Dell Byrd of Houston, TX; and a host of other nieces. Nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents John Dykes and Martha Ann Dillon, two daughters Kathyrn E. Merrill and Janice L. Davenport.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 7, 2018 at the chapel of Crain & Sons Funeral Home – Bogalusa, LA from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Metropolitan Baptist Church in Bogalusa, LA with Rev. M. J. Galloway, Pastor Officiating. Interment – Bogalusa Cemetery.
Crain & Sons Funeral Home – Bogalusa, LA in charge of arrangements.
