Roxie Anna Roberts, age 93 and a resident of Angie, Louisiana, passed away October 20, 2018. She worked for the Louisiana Expanded Food Nutrition Education Program as a Food Nutritionist for 17 years and retired December 31, 1986.
Mrs. Roxie educated many families with nutritional ways of preparing the most healthy meals for their families. She never grew tired of providing these services; she was overwhelmed with joy to be able to help others.
She leaves to cherish her memories her loving and devoted children, Willie Herman Roberts Sr. of Pride LA, Hersey Lee (Gloria) Roberts, Jr. of Angie LA, Maxine (James) Giles of Lufkin, Tx, Vernice (Janice) Roberts of Concord CA, Ernest (Stephanie) Spikes, Jr. of Angie, LA, Rev. Gaynell (Donald Ray) Nichols of Angie, LA Kenneth Wayne (Clorinda) Roberts Sr. Of Bogalusa LA, Oliver Roberts of Angie, LA, Larry Roberts, Sr. Of Angie, La, and Lucreatia Yvette (Kenneth) Pope of Huntsville, Al; two sisters, Luella Jackson of Angie, LA and Bessie of San Leandro, CA; three brothers, Virgil (Olivia) Mondy of Angie, LA, Herman (Ida) Mondy of Oakland CA, and Leonard Monday of Angie, La, fifty-three grandchildren, one hundred eleven great-grandchildren, and fifteen great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relative and friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Hersey Lee Roberts, Sr; three daughters, Nellie Mae Goodloe., Bernell R. Jones, and Charlene Roberts, father, Terman Mondy; mother Floretta Brown Monday; three sisters, Hattie T. Foster, Velma Nichols, and Grace Foster; four brothers, Steve Mondy, Oliver Mondy, Freddie W. Mondy, and Otha C. Mondy; and a grandson Ronnie J. Simon.
The wake will be held at Live Oak United Methodist Church, located at 65701 Live Oak Road in Angie, LA, on Friday, Oct 26, from 6:00-8:00 PM. The funeral will be held at the same location on Saturday, Oct 27 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Terrence August officiating.
The interment will be in the Live Oak Cemetery.
