Obituary

Rev. Clarence Abrams
August 19, 1950 - October 04, 2018



“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7-8

Reverend Clarence Abrams, known as “Albert” to some friends and “Rev” to others, was born August 19, 1950 in Bogalusa, LA to the late Izola Abrams and the late George McCree and died October 4, 2018. Rev. Abrams attended school in Bogalusa, LA and was a graduate of Central Memorial High Class of 1969. In early years Rev. Abrams was a member of Thirkield United Methodist Church and loved to tell how he assisted in remodeling it in his youth. After finishing High School Rev. Abrams enlisted in the United States Navy where he served faithfully until his discharge. Rev. Abrams joined White Hall Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Coleman Moses and became a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. This he loved and he loved to teach about the Lord.

Rev. Abrams accepted his call to the ministry and was ordained April 13, 1999. He received his Bachelor of Theology from the Christian Bible College of Southeast, Louisiana on May 13, 2005. He became Pastor of White Hall Church. There he remained Pastor until the Lord called him home.

He leaves to cherish his memories a loving and faithful wife, Patricia Watterson Abrams of Bogalusa, LA; four sons, Clarence (Ladedra) Abrams of Franklinton, LA, Delrick Abrams, Sr., Rodney Abrams, and Aaron Abrams all of Bogalusa, LA; one daughter, Rhonda Abrams of Bogalusa, LA; one sister, Louise Crumedy of Jasper, TX; one brother, Micheal (Geneva) McCray of Baton Rouge, LA; eleven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; four brothers-in-law, Richard (Hynetha) Harris of Baton Rouge, LA, James Watterson of TX, Charles Watterson and Will Peters of Bogalusa, LA; sister-in-law, Rosetta Tillman of Bogalusa, LA; a friend, Will Peters and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Izola Abram and George McCree; step father, Lawrence Smith; one sister, Joyce Ann “Sug” Ventry; two brothers, George McCray and Gerald Smith.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 12, 2018 from 9:00AM - 11:00AM at White Hall Missionary Baptist Church 714 Okechotee Ave Bogalusa, LA 70427 followed by funeral service at 11:00AM with Rev. Stanley Nathaniel - Officiating. Interment - Bogalusa Cemetery.

Crain and Sons Funeral Home - Bogalusa are in charge of arrangements.
