Julius Lavelle Turnage, age 63 and a resident of Pine, died Monday morning October 29, 2018 at his home. He was a former mechanic that worked alongside his family at D & W Garage for many years. Julius attended the Sheridan Jesus Name Holiness Church and he always had a big smile on his face. He adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and always enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survived by: Children and Spouses: Dewayne and Missy Turnage of Columbia, MS, Janie and Raymond Whaley of Foxworth, MS, Beverly and Scottie Thomas of Pine, Patricia Turnage of Sun; Grandchildren: Dallas Graham, Hunter Graham, Emily Galey, Ethan Galey, Abbey Smith, Jeremy Whaley, Ethan Whaley, Destiny Catoyre, Kaylee Stogner, Macie Turnage, Chelsey Turnage, Makayla Stringer, Abigail Schillings, Jayce Wastvedt, Gabriell Wastvedt, Dynasty Wood, Morgan Thomas, Bethany Thomas; Great-grandchildren: Kynslee Normand, Kaysen Rodrigue, Brayah Stogner, Luke Jenkins, Juliet Wood, Julius Wood, Heidi Smith; Brothers and Sisters in law: Wayne and Katherleen Turnage of Foxworth, MS, Jimmy and Chris Turnage of Franklinton, Doug and Krystal Turnage of Varnado; Also numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife Donna Erwin Turnage, grandson Damon Scott Thomas, parents Rev. J.B. Turnage and Addie Lee Smith Turnage and a sister Janie Sue Turnage.
Visitation will be at Sheridan Jesus Name Holiness Church on Hwy. 10 in the Sheridan Community beginning Wednesday October 31st at 5:00 pm and continuing until 2:00 pm on Thursday. A funeral service will be held in the church at 2:00 pm Thursday with Rev. Jerry Terrell, Rev. Charles Creel and Rev. Scottie Thomas officiating. Special music will be performed by his son Dewayne and son in law Scottie and Johnny Ray Spears. Burial will follow in the Faith Tabernacle Church Cemetery.
