Saturday (September 29, 2018) a Washington Parish homeowner woke up at 2 a.m. to find a male intruder inside his house. He immediately contacted the Sheriff’s Office. Responding deputies learned that the intruder had fled but they were quickly able to identify the intruder as Keifer Benjamin Dedon (28), a resident of North Dutch Road near Franklinton.Dedon was located the same day and charged with unauthorized entry into an inhabited dwelling and criminal damage to property. In addition, Dedon was arrested on outstanding warrants for distribution of schedule 3 drugs and 3 counts of failure to appear in court.
“At any time a homeowner wakes to find an intruder inside his home, there is always the possibility of someone being hurt,” said Sheriff Randy Seal. “Fortunately, in this case, Dedon fled before anyone was harmed. Our deputies did an excellent job locating him and putting him in jail. I congratulate them on their hard work and successful capture.
