Governor John Bel Edwards' October 18, 2018 press release touts his criminal justice reforms and announced new funding for community incentive grants, victim services, and reinvestment and reentry programs for offenders. This is in addition to legislation that removed the ban for people convicted of drug related felonies from getting food stamps and welfare benefits after they have been released from prison.Click here to read the press release.
