Abraham Announces $75,000 for Franklinton Law Enforcement

Congressman Ralph Abraham, M.D., R-Alto, today (September 17, 2018) announced that the Town of Franklinton will receive $75,000 in federal funds to purchase two new police vehicles and equipment.

The grant comes from the US Department of Agriculture’s Community Facilities Grant Program. The grant will cover the total cost of the purchase.

“Our law enforcement officers do so much to keep our communities safe, so it is important that they have the resources they need to keep up their good work. I appreciate Sec. Sonny Perdue and the USDA for awarding these funds to Franklinton,” Dr. Abraham said.

Franklinton Police Chief Olander Smith today expressed his appreciation for the funding and said the $75,000 may allow for the purchase of three vehicles.
