Two Tangi Juveniles (Aged 14 and 16) Caught After Pursuit

Two unnamed Tangipahoa Parish juveniles have been charged following a pursuit with a stolen vehicle Tuesday (August 21, 2018).

A St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s deputy observed a pickup truck matching the description of one that had been previously reported stolen Tuesday morning out of the Hammond area. The deputy attempted to initiate a traffic stop but the drive failed to stop. The vehicle pursuit ended inside the city limits of Covington in the area of 24th Avenue and the driver and passenger fled on foot.

A perimeter was established with the assistance of Covington Police Department and the STPSO K-9 Division, and the driver and his passenger were quickly located, hiding inside a shed located behind a residence near where they had left the stolen pickup.

The two were booked into the Florida Parishes Juvenile Detention Center on charges of Possession of Stolen Property, Resisting Arrest, and Unauthorized Entry of an Inhabited Dwelling.
