Bogalusa Council Candidate Ruled Not Qualified

District Judge Raymond S. Childress rendered a decision last week (July 31, 2018) that Alexis Magee Keys, Bogalusa Council District “A” candidate did not meet the domiciliary/residence requirement and, therefore, is not qualified to run for the office.

The Petition Objecting to Candidacy was by and on behalf of Gloria W. Kates. After receiving testimony, the Court ruled from the bench and found for plaintiff Gloria Kates. Keys had testified that she had lived at other addresses outside the District within the six months of the qualifying date.

Incumbent Bogalusa Council District “A” Councilwoman Gloria Kates (Democrat) will face challenger Virginia Dunn (No Party) in the November 6, 2018 election.
