Mrs. Ruth Brown, age 69 and a resident of Mount Hermon, LA, passed from this life Monday, July 23, 2018 at her residence in Mount Hermon, LA. She was born in Brownfield, TX on Tuesday, February 1, 1949 to Charles Dyke and Rosie Brownlee Dyke. She attended church at Antioch Assembly of God Church. She was self-employed as a home and business cleaner.
Mrs. Brown is preceded in death by her husband, Claude Brown, Jr.; mother, Rosie Brownlee; father, Charles Dyke; 2 daughters, Shannon Jordan, Sherri Lightfoot; brother, Delbert Dyke; granddaughter, Kortney Hudson.
She is survived by her daughter, Shelly Wilkes, Mount Hermon, LA; step son, Donald Brown, Waynesboro, MS; sister, Lavern Rutledge, Brownfield, TX; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Mrs. Brown will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Friday, July 27, 2018 in the Parlor of Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS 39367. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, July 27, 2018 in the Chapel of Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Jacob Gros officiating. Interment will be in Antioch Assembly of God Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS.
