Dorothy Elizabeth McCain Sumrall, age 86 and a resident of the Poplarhead Community died early Wednesday morning July 18, 2018 at her home. She was retired after 25 years of service as a cafeteria worker and then manager at Franklinton Elementary School. Dot was a longtime member of Poplarhead Missionary Baptist Church, who dearly loved her church family.
Survived by: 2 Daughters and a Son in law: Barbara Luper, Diane and Charles Wood all of Franklinton; 4 Grandchildren and Spouses: Chad and Michelle Luper, Damon and Richelle Luper, Sarah and Brian Brock, Wendy and Cole Bickham; 9 Great-grandchildren: Brittany Beard, Cole Luper, Kacie Luper, Jacob Luper, Justin Luper, Emily Brock, Trent Brock, Beau Bickham, Brayden Bickham; 4 Great-great-grandchildren: Ashlynn, Allora, Cooper, Bryson; Sister in law: Golda Sumrall; Also numerous nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her husband Willie Sumrall, son in law Hayward Luper, mother Olivia Knight McCain, father and step-mother J.D. McCain and Althea Brumfield McCain, step-brother Cedric James, step-sister Leatrice Nicks, also numerous sisters in law and brothers in law.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Saturday July 21st from 10 am until 2 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2 pm Saturday with Eld. Edward Penton and Eld. Glynn Erwin officiating. Burial will follow in the Poplarhead Baptist Church.
