Rotary Names Franklinton Police Officer of the Year 2018

Franklinton Police Chief Olander Smith advised today that Steve Lang has been chosen Rotary Club Police Officer of the year. Steve is the oldest child of Bill and Daisy Lang, he has a sister Sandra and brother Allen, is married to Latina Lang, and has three children; Chris, Kelly, and Steven.
Steve started his career in law enforcement at the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office in July 1992. He attended and graduated from the LSU Law Enforcement Academy in Baton Rouge in November of 1992. He worked in the Washington Parish Criminal Patrol division for 12 years before becoming a supervisor in 1994. Steve retired from the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office after 22 years of service.
Unable to sit still very long and having too much time on his hand, Steve began work at Our Lady of the Angels Hospital in March of 2014.
He joined the Franklinton Police Department in April of 2016, where he is currently employed. He has 26 years of Law Enforcement experience. Chief Smith said “I am honored to present Corporal Steve Lang as the Rotary Club Police Officer of year.”
