Traffic Violations + Marijuana + Gun + More = Arrest

On the night of May 9, 2018, Bogalusa Police Department Offices saw a vehicle parked in the street
on Florence Avenue and obstructing the flow of traffic. When the officers approached the vehicle, they could smell the odor of marijuana coming from the interior of the vehicle. Officers made contact with the driver who was identified as Quinton L. Porter (34) of Bogalusa. Porter was able to produce a vehicle registration and insurance but he didn't have a drivers license.
Due to the strong odor of marijuana and observing a suspected marijuana cigar, officers proceeded to search the vehicle. The passenger, identified as Le'Issacc Morris, reportedly admitted the cigar was his. During the search a handgun was located under the drivers seat. Located on the rear seat was a box of baby wipes that contained a large amount of a green leafy substance suspected of being marijuana and a digital scale. The suspected marijuana was packaged in two large bags and nine small bags.
Porter was charged with Obstructing of Public Passages, Driver Must Be Licensed, Possession With Intent to Distribute Marijuana, Possession or Carrying a Weapon by a Convicted Felon, Illegal Carrying of a Weapon While in Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Morris was issued a summons for Simple Possession of Marijuana.
