Marshall Lloyd Jefferson, Sr.
September 07, 1925 - May 15, 2018



Marshall L. Jefferson, Sr. was born September 7, 1925 in Angie, Louisiana to the late Harvey and Zena Jefferson. He was their first born of thirteen children. He departed this life on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at the age of 92 with his loved ones by his side.
He graduated from Westley Ray High School. He was a great farmer that could grow anything. He was a builder that could make and fix anything. He was a cattleman that raised cows. To top it all off, he was a Washington School Bus Driver for 35 years.
Marshall accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Westley Ray United Methodist Church where he was a faithful and dedicated member all of his life. He served as a class leader, the treasurer of the church, he sang in the church choir for many years, he was a member of the United Methodist Men, and also a member of the Trustee Board.
He leaves to cherish his memories, three devoted daughters, Doris (Bernard) Harry of New Orleans, La. Carolyn Joe L. Lewis of Varnado, La. Ester Mitchell Blackburn; three sons, Marshall L Jr. (Norvis) Jefferson of Houston, Tx. Roderick Tyrone (Benita) Jefferson of Missouri City, Tx, and James Craig Jefferson of Angie, La. A special daughter, Miranda (Timmy) Lander of Lafayette, La. Two God-daughters, Sandra Jackson Brown of Little Rock, Ak and Janice Hevon of Angie, La. One God-son, Oscar Jefferson, Jr. (Shantell). He also leaves a daughter-in-law, Linda Jefferson. Two sisters and five brothers Freddie Jefferson, Sr. of Angie, La., Clarence (Clarissa) Jefferson of Jackson, Ms., Cleveland (Myrtle) Jefferson of Baton Rouge, La, Marvin (Athriss) Jefferson, Ruth M. Morman, Ester Jefferson all of Angie, La. and Rev. Julius (Carol) Jefferson of Pikesville, M. D. Twenty-one grandchildren, thirty-eight great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Chinesa Henry Jefferson; one daughter, Selma Jefferson; one son, Oscar Jefferson, Sr.; father, Harvey Jefferson; mother, Zena Jefferson, six sisters, Lottie J. Marks, Willie Pittman, Daisy Brown, Naomi Brown, Willie Me Spikes, and Julia Harry; four brothers, Nevers L. Jefferson, Lucious Jefferson, Sr., Thomas Jefferson, Jr., and Joseph Jefferson, Sr; and two grandsons, Christopher and Paul Jefferson.
Visitation is scheduled for Friday, May 25, 2018 from 2 pm to 7 pm at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa. The Funeral Service will be at 1 pm on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Wesley Ray United Methodist Church in Angie.
