Obituary

Kyra Cox Wilson
July 11, 1972 - May 19, 2018



Kyra Louise Cox Wilson, age 45 and a resident of the Stoney Point Community passed away peacefully at Riverside Medical Center following a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was a graduate of Franklinton High School in 1989 and later received her degree from Southeastern Louisiana University in Mathematics Education. Kyra also obtained a Master’s degree from SLU in Educational Leadership. She was a math teacher at Franklinton High for many years while also serving as Vice Principal for two years. Kyra was currently a math coach at the Northshore Charter School in Bogalusa. She was an avid reader of many different types of books and literature and a lifelong member of Stoney Point Missionary Baptist Church. Kyra was always a loving mother, daughter, sister and friend that cherished the time spent with her sons and family.
Survived by: 2 Sons: Russell Michael Wilson, Daniel Payton Cox; Parents: Kinell Cox and Nancy Bond Cox of the Stoney Point Community; Sister and Brother in law: Leigh Ann and David Morel of Stoney Point; Nieces: Ashleigh Morel, Annsleigh Morel; Uncles and Aunts: William and Genie Bond, Danny and Cornell Bond, Marvin Poole, Wilvie and Alvie Cox, Wayne and Dee Cox, Terry Smart, Jean Cox; Also numerous cousins and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Kevin Michael Wilson, an infant brother Kyle Cox, grandparents Q.D. Bond and Wilkie Bankston Bond, Leo Cox and Eloise McDaniel Cox, an aunt Ann Bond Poole and uncle Harold Cox.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Tuesday May 22nd from 5 pm until 9 pm. Visitation will continue on Wednesday at Stoney Point Missionary Baptist Church (37030 Hwy. 10, Franklinton, LA 70438) from 9 am until 11 am. A funeral service will be held in the church at 11 am Wednesday with Bro. Brent King and Bro. Everette Broome officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family wishes to express a sincere thank you to Dr. Robin Fabre, the staff of Riverside Medical Center and Community Care Hospice for their care and support. Also to the many co-workers, church family members and all those in our community that helped to raise funds and for the countless prayers and thoughts during these difficult times.
