Dellarine B. Crain
March 03, 1933 - March 27, 2018



Dellarine Bell Crain of Baton Rouge passed away March 27, 2018 at the age of 85.
Sis. Dellarine Bell Crain was born March 3, 1933 to the late Lloyd and Jessie Toomer Bell. She was peacefully called home on Tuesday, March 27, 2018.
Sis. Dellarine was married to the love of her life Elder McDonald Crain for 52 years and to this union three children were born, Byron, Gregory, and Cedric Crain.
She was a beautician at Southern University in the Student Union.
For years, she was instrumental in getting the participants ready for the Queen of Southern University Pageant at the Bayou Classic.
Sis. Dellarine Crain was the First Lady to Plainview Church of Christ Holiness in Baton Rouge, LA and Mt. Zion Church of Christ Holiness in Gilbert, LA until the death of her husband. She held many positions for the District, Diocese, and National Church of Christ Holiness organizations. She was the Past President for the UCWM, treasurer for the district. She was coordinator of the minister’s wife’s ministries, the awards department for the HYM and Sunday school for the district and diocese. Sis. Crain was also the diocese level district representative for the Bishop Sustaining Fund, and the UCWM Senior Ministries facilitator for the diocese. Sis. Crain was very instrumental in the Church of Christ Holiness District, Diocese, and National levels.
Sis. Dellarine had a true passion for the youth because she knew they were the future for the church. She encouraged all the ladies of the church and treated them like they were her daughters. Her mantra was, quote “Everything should be done decently and in order”.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories one son, Gregory Crain of Baton Rouge, LA; six grandchildren, Chijuana (Roy) Crain-Terrell, Gregory (Adriana) Crain, and Garland Crain all of Dallas, TX, Germaine Crain of Baton Rouge, LA, Cherrie Crain of Hammond, LA, and Garmar (Yvette) Crain of Atlanta, GA, eight great-grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren; two sisters, Essie Lee Mills of Baton Rouge, LA and Valdora (Joseph) Snedecor of Zachary, LA; one brother-in-law, Brisco Crain of Franklinton, LA; one Godson and two God daughters and a host of other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Elder McDonald Crain; two sons, Byron Crain and Cedric Crain; her parents, Jessie Toomer and Lloyd Bell; three sisters, and two brothers.
Visitation and a Funeral Service will be Friday, April 6, 2018 at Plainview Church of Christ Holiness, 111 North Foster Drive, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70806.
