Sonny Mitchell Morgan
April 4, 1980 - April 1, 2018


SONNY MITCHELL MORGAN, AGE 37 and a resident of Thomas, died Sunday night April 1, 2018. He was born in Tylertown on April 4, 1980 and was a 1998 graduate of Mount Hermon High School. Sonny loved playing basketball and was a four year member of the Yellow Jackets basketball team. He also played baseball at Mount Hermon for his close uncle and coach J.T. Thomas and was a member of the F.F.A. Sonny later continued his love of basketball by coaching his younger brother and other young people for several years. He worked for Thomas Brothers Construction and also worked as a plumber for many years with the skills he learned from his grandfather J.W. Sonny enjoyed reading his Bible and writing poetry. He was always a kind and outgoing person to those he met and he cherished the time spent with his family and many friends.

He was preceded in death by grandmother Violet Thomas, uncles Ronald Morgan, Kerwin Vogt, Joey Moore, uncle and aunt Jody and Penny Kennedy, cousin Danielle Thomas and dear friend Spencer Wilson.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Thursday April 5th from 5 pm until 9 pm. Visitation will continue on Friday at Bible Baptist Church (29567 Hwy. 424 near Thomas) from 10 am until 1 pm. A funeral service will be held in the church at 1 pm Friday with Rev. Harold Gaddy, Rev. Keith Branch and Rev. John Mark Franklin officiating. Burial will follow in the Cauley Thomas Family Cemetery.
