"As winter comes to a close and we welcome spring, we remember that spring is a great time in Washington Parish – a new baseball season begins, spring break is approaching, and graduation draws near for our students. We enjoy celebrating these good times in our wonderful parish.
I want to remind all drivers that with warmer weather, children may be playing near our parish and city roads. Please take extra caution and slow down when driving through residential neighborhoods. Always be aware that children learn by watching us. If you're traveling with a child in your vehicle, please demonstrate good driving habits, including: wear your seat belt, · obey the speed limit, slow near schools and neighborhoods (and explain why this is important), do not text while driving, and make sure children are correctly fastened in the proper car seat.
