Patty Sue Planche Stevenson
March 21, 1927 - March 19, 2018



Patty Sue Planche Stevenson, age 90 years, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 19, 2018, at her home in Bogalusa, Louisiana.
She was born on March 21, 1927 in Bogalusa to the late Octave and Pattie Planche. She was the loving wife of the late James A. Stevenson of Bogalusa and the beloved mother of Patti S. McHugh (Kelly) of Madisonville, La., Mary Christine “Chris” Black of Bogalusa, James A. “Jimbo” Stevenson, Jr. (Joy) of Bogalusa, and Angele S. Luffey (Monte) of Pass Christian, MS. Patty Sue was the fun & loving grandmother of Kelly Patrick McHugh (Jamie), Michael McHugh, Caroline Black (fiancĂ©, Louie), Joseph Black, Chase Kinley, James Stevenson III, James Luffey, John David Luffey, Christopher Luffey, and Ainsley Luffey. She was the devoted great grandmother to Kristian P. McHugh, Elise E. McHugh and Anna Rose McHugh.
She is survived by her sister, Camille “Sister” Planche White. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Amadee “Shorty” Planche, Octave “Buck” Planche, Jr. and David Pipes “Pikey” Planche.
Patty Sue was a lifelong member of the Annunciation Catholic Church, and served on the Annunciation School Board, and was a classroom volunteer at Annunciation Catholic School. She was a member of the Bogalusa Civic League, Bogalusa Garden Club, Ingleside Symposium, Diamond Dames Club, MCCA Group MASH, Bridge Club of Friends and numerous other community organizations.
Visitation will be held at Annunciation Catholic Church, 517 Avenue B, Bogalusa, LA 70427 on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 P.M. Funeral Service Mass will be held at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Father Daniel Brouillette officiating. Interment will follow at Ponemah Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to: Annunciation Catholic Church, Annunciation Catholic School, Alzheimer’s Association, or Camellia Hospice.
