Robert Odom
May 7, 1948 - March 21, 2018



ROBERT EARL ODOM, AGE 69 and a resident of Franklinton died early Wednesday afternoon March 21, 2018 at Hood Memorial Hospital in Amite. Robert was a native of Arizona but spent the majority of his life in Twin Falls, Idaho before moving to Washington Parish over a decade ago. He was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War Era. Robert enjoyed reading Western novels and playing card games. He also had a large collection of antique model cars. He was a member of Faith Tabernacle Apostolic Church. Robert had a great sense of humor and enjoyed laughing and picking with his family and friends. He adored his many grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survived by: Wife of 13 years: Marilyn Rowell Odom of Franklinton; Sons and Daughters in law: John and Trashelle Odom of Eagle, Idaho,Trampas and Sharon Cooksey, Josh and Destiny Cooksey all of Franklinton, Brian Cooksey of Tylertown, MS; Daughter and Son in law: Amy and Michael Thomas of Tylertown; Grandchildren: Makaylan, Hudson, Mason and Scarlett Odom, Breanna, Lane, and Laken Cooksey, Rissa, Trinity and Timothy Cooksey, Naomi, Leslie and Brice Cooksey, Austin and Blake Thomas; Great-grandson: Westin; 2 Sisters and a Brother in law: Nelda Penton, Jo and Vincent Dillon all of Franklinton; 2 Sisters in law: Elaine Odom of Graham, TX, Iris Odom of Franklinton; Also numerous nieces, nephews, brothers in law, sisters in law, other family members and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Marcella J. Odom, parents John W. Odom and Margie Dykes Odom, brothers Tommy Odom, Pete Odom and John Odom.
Visitation will be at Faith Tabernacle Church Thursday March 22nd from 5 pm until 9 pm and after 10 am on Friday. A funeral service will be held in the church at 2 pm Friday with Rev. Jerry Cox, Rev. John Barber and Rev. Aaron Cox officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
