District Attorney Warren Montgomery reports that Lloyd Joseph Weysham (62) of Kiln, Mississippi pleaded guilty Wednesday (March 14, 2018) to sexual battery of a victim under 13. District Judge Peter Garcia sentenced Weysham to 50 years in prison.
The victim, an 8-year-old girl, had been left in Weysham’s care in a Slidell home in June, 2017, when he touched her inappropriately and forced her to perform oral sex on him. The victim’s older sister, who had pretended to be sleeping in a separate bed, witnessed the crime and called an adult family member. The family member returned to the house and contacted police. The defendant admitted to the crime in a recorded statement to police.
The sentencing range for sexual battery of a victim under 13 is from 25 to 99 years in prison. Weysham must serve the first 25 years of the 50-year sentence before he is eligible for parole, probation, or suspension of sentence.
The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office investigated the case. Assistant District Attorney Blair Alford prosecuted it.
