Lazette Thomas Brumfield
August 6, 1944 - February 24, 2018



LAZETTE THOMAS BRUMFIELD, AGE 73 and a resident of the Stateline Community, died Saturday morning February 24, 2018 at her home. She was a member of Forest Haven Missionary Baptist Church, where she was recently honored for over 32 years of dedication to the Lord’s work as a Sunday school and Bible class teacher. She enjoyed gardening and working on the farm. Alongside her family, Lazette worked in their well-known pecan business for many years. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending time in God’s beautiful nature. Lazette adored her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and cherished the time spent with her family.
Scriptures that were the cornerstone of who she was to her family and community…“Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.” James 1:27, as well as…Proverbs 31 verses 10--31
Survived by: Mother: Earline Martin Thomas of Thomas; 3 Daughters and Sons in law: Sheila and Clark Lowery of Laurel, MS, Malinda and Danny White of Bogalusa, Lamanda and Scott Taylor of Hackley; 2 Sons and Daughters in law: Brian and Tammy Brumfield,
Brent and Benji Brumfield all of Stateline; 15 Grandchildren; 6 Great-grandchildren; 2 Sisters and Brothers in law: Mary Jane and Joseph Stogner of Sandy Hook, Sharon and John Hartzog of Bogalusa; Brother: Raymond “Archie” Thomas of Thomas; Sisters in law: Linda Graves Thomas of Thomas, Elsie Brumfield Crain of Bogalusa, Lynn Blossman of Covington, Evelyn Young Brumfield Branch of Bogalusa, Yvonne Wheat Brumfield, Ann Smith Brumfield both of Angie, Evelyn Crain Brumfield of Bogalusa; Brothers in law: Paul “Buddy” Brumfield, William Brumfield both of Angie; Also numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Leo Brumfield, father Archie Thomas, brothers Richard Lloyd Thomas, Walter Thurman Thomas, sister in law Genell Brumfield, brothers in law Bobby Brumfield, Chris Brumfield.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Monday February 26th from 5:30 pm until 9 pm. Visitation will continue Tuesday at Forest Haven Missionary Baptist Church from 10 am until 2 pm. A funeral service will be held at 2 pm Tuesday with Eld. Richard Magee, Eld. Clyde Cooper, Eld. Yancy Magee, Eld. Glynn Erwin, Eld. Lavon Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers: Parker White, Travis Taylor, Jake Taylor, John William Hartzog, Jeremy Lee, Ryan Hickman
Honorary Pallbearers are Trevor Brumfield and Zachary Lowery both currently serving in the United States Air Force
