Slidell: Arrest Made in Shooting of Innocent Bystander

St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s detectives have arrested Michael Sirelle Bickham (42) of Slidell in the shooting of an innocent bystander (54) during an altercation on Sunday afternoon (January 21, 2018)).
Bickham reportedly had heard his girlfriend arguing with her children’s father outside a home on Beech Street and he exited the home armed with a pistol. An altercation ensued between the two men and Bickham discharged the weapon. The bullet struck an unintended victim, a friend of Bickham’s who was standing nearby. Bickham drove his friend to the hospital and then fled. A neighbor reported the shooting and the victim was located at a local hospital.
Bickham was arrested shortly after 8 pm when he returned to the hospital to check on his friend’s condition. Bickham was charged with Second Degree Aggravated Battery and Aggravated Assault With a Firearm.
