Howard Acey Hartfield

Howard Acey Hartfield, born in Bedico and a longtime resident of Varnado, died Friday morning at St. Tammany Hospital in Covington at the age of 77.
He is survived by his 2 sons, James (Darla) Hartfield of Bogalusa, LA, and Howard Hartfield, Jr. of Varnado, LA; 2 daughters, Tina Anderson of Fresno, TX, and Elvora (Robert) Hunt of Franklinton, LA. Also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, other realtives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Hester J. Hartfield; parents, James “Shorty” and Alice Hartfield; brother, Ernest James Hartfield.
Visitation will be held at Poole Ritchie Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, January 8, 2018, from 10 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. Funeral Services will begin at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Chad Jenkins officiating. Burial will be private. Full Military Services will be conducted by the American Legion Post #24.
