Slidell Man Breaks Handcuffs During Arrest for Robbery

St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s deputies have arrested Leval Butler (35) of Slidell for an early morning robbery today (December 8, 2017) at the Shell station on Highway 11.
STPSO reports that Butler entered the Shell station wearing a mask over his face. While threatening the clerk’s life, Butler removed an undisclosed amount of money from the register and fled on foot.
Responding deputies quickly established a perimeter and located Butler nearby with the stolen cash still on his person. Butler resisted arrest and broke a pair of handcuffs in the process. However, he was taken into custody and booked on the charges of Simple Robbery, Resisting an Officer with Force, and Simple Criminal Damage to Property
