WPSO Deputy Seizes Marijuana and Counterfeit Money

Early in the morning of November 9, Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office patrol deputy Jay Dupre observed a vehicle driving erratically on Highway 21 in the Angie area. He made a traffic stop on the vehicle which contained four males and discovered both marijuana and counterfeit one hundred dollar bills inside the vehicle.
An occupant of the vehicle, Darrius Dvante’ Miller (18) of Terrytown (a New Orleans suburb), was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute Schedule I drugs and possession of counterfeit money.
“Shortly after midnight, when most honest citizens are asleep in their homes, our patrol deputies are working throughout the parish to protect everyone,” said Sheriff Randy Seal. “In this situation, Deputy Dupre made a brave night-time stop on a vehicle containing four unknown males. He handled the entire matter in a professional and safe manner and was able to get both illegal drugs and counterfeit money out of our community. The drug dealer went to jail and our deputy went home to be with his family. That is a good ending.”
