Troopers on the Northshore responded to an early Wednesday morning (November 15, 2017) crash on I-59 near Slidell that claimed the life of Leonar C. Lebell (49) of Slidell.Troopers determined that Lebell crashed into the rear of a Tractor-Trailer as he attempted to overtake it. The tractor-trailer was driven by Gheorghe Ciota (58) of Shelby Township, Michigan. Following the crash, Lebell’s vehicle caught fire and became fully engulfed in flames. Lebell sustained fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced deceased on-scene.
