Mitchell Wayne Polkey
September 7, 1985 - November 19, 2017


MITCHELL WAYNE POLKEY, AGE 32 and a resident of Bogalusa, died Sunday evening November 19, 2017. He was a brick-layer that worked in construction throughout the area. Mitchell loved boat-riding, fishing and just spending time on the river. He also enjoyed listening to his favorite music and being with his friends and family.
Survived by: Mother: Sherry Duncan of Bogalusa; Father and Step-mother: Edward Wayne Polkey and Dee Polkey of Tylertown; 2 Brothers: John Crosby and Lisa Blackwell of Thomas, Matthew Polkey of Bogalusa; Sister and Brother in law: Jessie and Bill Richardson of Enon; Step-father: Jimmy Dale Phelps of Bogalusa; 3 Step-brothers; 2 Nieces; 2 Nephews; Extended family members: Carl Penton, Roxie Haik; Also numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and many friends.
He was preceded in death by grandparents Allen and Mamie Duncan, Lee Leonce Polkey and Eloise Polkey, uncles Carroll Duncan, Jr., Danny Polkey and aunt Patsy Jenkins.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Friday November 24th from 11:30 am until 12:30 pm. A graveside funeral service will be held at 1 pm Friday in Duncan Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Cox officiating. Burial will follow.
The family wishes to express a sincere thank you to his uncle Duaine Duncan for his support.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to help with final expenses.
