Bogalusa Farmers Market Needs More Support

Nancy Brown, manager of the Bogalusa Farmers Market, came before the Bogalusa City Council Tuesday (November 7, 2017) and bluntly stated "we are not being supported by the community". Brown stated that the market, opened since April of 2017 on Saturdays from 9am to 1pm, has been struggling to survive. She said "no one shows up" despite their efforts to get the word out. The Bogalusa Farmers Market has been regularly promoted on the Facebook pages of Our Lady of Angels Hospital, the City of Bogalusa, Mt. Hermon Web TV, as well at their own page at https://www.facebook.com/BogalusaFarmersMarket/.
In an effort to be more visible, the market is being moved to the parking lot near Tractor Supply on Superior Avenue. Previously, the location was in Goodyear Park.
