Alert Neighbors Help Solve Lee's Creek Burglary

Today (November 2, 2017), the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Anthony Joseph Mitchell (38) of Bogalusa for burglarizing a residence in the Lee's Creek community. WPSO reports that Mitchell was interrupted when the home security alarm sounded.  He fled with a stolen pistol, but not before alert neighbors were able to get a description of his getaway vehicle.
Through a series of interviews, WPSO detectives determined that Mitchell was the burglar, he was located and arrested on the charges of theft, burglary and failure to appear in court. Additionally, he was charged with a previous theft of a utility trailer in another burglary.
Mitchell had just been released from jail on September 9th after an arrest for drug and traffic related offenses.
Sheriff Randy Seal praised the reporting by the alert neighbors and the good work of his officers in apprehending Mitchell.
