Picayune Man Guilty of Battery, Burglary, Agg. Battery

A St. Tammany Parish jury found Brian Henry Pittman (34) of Picayune guilty last Wednesday (October 25, 2017) of aggravated battery, attempted armed robbery, and simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling. Sentencing is set for December 15, 2017 before Judge Richard Swartz. Pittman faces from 5 to 20 years for the aggravated battery charge, 25 to 99 years for the attempted armed robbery, and 6 to 24 years for the simple burglary.
The 44-year-old victim was cooking on a grill on the patio of his Slidell home on March 29, 2015, when Pittman entered the victim’s yard and asked for money. Pittman then brandished a knife, struck the victim in the face, and entered the victim’s home to look for items of value. Pittman was linked to the case by DNA found on a cap he left behind at the scene.
