Eugene Carter Corkern
September 19, 1932 - October 29, 2017


EUGENE CARTER CORKERN, age 85 and a resident of Enon, died Sunday morning October 29, 2017 at her home. She was a former longtime nurse at the McGehee Clinic in Franklinton and a member of Enon Baptist Church. Eugene loved hunting and the outdoors. She was an avid deer, turkey, squirrel and duck hunter and she has the mounts to prove it throughout her home. She liked to plant a vegetable garden when she was able and she loved to cook for others.
Surviving: Nephews and Great-nephews and their Spouses: John N. and Connie Parker of Enon, Boosie and Sheila Carter of Varnado, Darryl and Sharon Mizell of Enon, Dustin and Keller Mizell of Nashville, TN, Jeffery Parker, John David Parker both of Enon; Also numerous other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son Rusty Corkern, her husband Doyle Corkern, sisters Mildred Pittman, Ida Mae Johnson and brothers Otis Carter, Hubert Carter.
Visitation will be at Enon Baptist Church on Tuesday October 31st from 9 am until 11 am. A funeral service will be held in the church at 11 am Tuesday with Rev. Chris Wheeler and Rev. Pete Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
