Stephen Barney Sims
June 28, 1934 - October 01, 2017


Stephen Barney Sims, born in Tylertown, Ms. and a resident of Grand Isle, passed away at the age of 83 on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at Lady of the Sea General Hospital in Cut Off.  LA. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was also an avid fisherman.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Katherine “Kat” Sims; daughter, Carolyn Sims Hobgood; 2 grandsons, Donald Hobgood, Jr., and Steven Hobgood and wife, Liana; great grandchildren, Destin and Braeleigh Hobgood.
Preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Amanda Sims.
Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Kentwood,  from 5 PM until 9 PM on Wednesday and from 9 AM until religious services at 11 AM on Thursday, October 5, 2017. Services conducted by Rev. Gary Hanberry. Interment Woodland Cemetery, Kentwood.
