Leon C. Sampere

Leon C. Sampere, age 83, a resident of Bogalusa, LA, passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge, LA.
He served in the National Guard. He was born on November 11, 1933 in New Orleans, LA. He was a longtime resident of Bogalusa, LA; Past President of Bogalusa Rotary Club; and a longtime member of MCCA.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Phyllis Byrd Sampere of Bogalusa, LA; three daughters, Karen (Tony) Lopardi of New Orleans, LA; Kathy Gorman of Pompano Beach, FL; and Laura Hicks of Bogalusa, LA; a sister, Lilitha BonVillian of Metairie, LA; six grandchildren, Kelli Lopardi, Anthony “TJ” (Renee) Lopardi, Katherine Lopardi, Garrett Hicks, Mariah Gorman, and Matthew Gorman; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. Visitation will continue at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, October 19, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Garden of Peace in Ponemah Cemetery.
