Merrel Flynn
December 12, 1937 - October 12, 2017



Merrel Flynn born December 12, 1937 passed away peacefully on October 12, 2017 at the residence at the age of 79. Merrel was born in the Crossroads MS. Community and resident of Bogalusa. He was a Supervisor in the Printing Dept. at the Crown Zellerbach Multi-Wall bag division until he retired. Merrel loved the outdoors and loved to hunt and fish with his family and he also was of the Baptist Faith.
He left behind two sons, Tommy Flynn and his wife Charmaine of Bogalusa and Terry Flynn and his wife Suzanne also of Bogalusa, two brothers, Joe Flynn and his wife Wella Mae Flynn of Crossroads, MS. And Tony Flynn and his wife Iris of Pearl River, La. two sisters, Alracea Saucier and her husband Kenneth of Bogalusa and Ada Evangeline"Vangie"Fortenberry and her husband Charles also of Bogalusa, 6 grandchildren, Gina(Christopher)Crawford, Dustin Flynn, Candice Flynn, Stephen (Sarah) DeCarlo, 6 great-grandchildren, Bentley Crawford, Levi Crawford Liza Jane Crawford, Tyler Voss, Parker DeCarlo and Aiden DeCarlo and numerous nieces and nephews and other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Betty Joyce Flynn, 3 brothers, Glendle Flynn, Ferrel Flynn and Darwin Flynn, 2 sisters, Jimmie Lou Varnado and Sherry Flynn Irvine and a grandson, Cory Flynn.
Visitation will be held on Saturday October 14, 2017 at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home beginning at 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. and will resume Sunday October 15, 2017 after 8:00 A.M. until service time at 12:00 P.M. Bro. Jimmy Byrd will officiate the services with the interment to follow in the Ponemah Cemetery.
