Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop L investigated a two vehicle fatal crash in Slidell on Wednesday (September 20, 2017) night that claimed the life of Ray Dupuy (52), a Lieutenant with the Slidell Police Department.Troopers determined that the crash occurred as Gina Marie Groglio (29) of Pearl River was driving a 2014 Honda Civic eastbound on Brownswitch Rd. and attempted to turn left into a private drive. She traveled into the path of Dupuy's 2012 Hondo Motorcycle that was traveling westbound on Brownswitch Rd. The front of Dupuy’s motorcycle crashed into the passenger side rear corner of Groglio’s vehicle.
Dupuy sustained severe injuries in the crash, was transported to Ochsner Medical Center – Northshore, and then to University Medical Center - New Orleans. Shortly after his arrival at UMC, Dupuy succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash. Groglio was uninjured in the crash and was cited for Improper Turning.
The crash investigation is ongoing. Troopers will consult with the St. Tammany Parish District Attorney Office for any additional charges pending the completion of the investigation.
