K-9 Lex Helps Apprehend Suspect Near Bush
St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s K-9 Lex assisted in the apprehension of a suspect Thursday (September 7, 2017) morning at a residence in the Bush area. Deputies were at the residence in reference to an unrelated incident when they observed a Honda 600XR dirt bike on the property. Deputies recognized the dirt bike as stolen from a “BOLO” issued Wednesday by St. Tammany Sheriff’s Office. The dirt bike had been reported stolen from the backyard of a Covington residence sometime between the evening of August 31 and the early morning of September 1.
After the stolen dirt bike was spotted on the property, the area was searched and the suspect, Christopher Miller (30) from Folsom was located and apprehended with the assistance of K-9 Lex. Miller was found hiding in the residence in a hall bathroom under a large pile of debris.
Miller was charged with Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Resisting an Officer, and Theft Under $1,000
