David Brunet (33) of Folsom has been charged with negligent homicide in the crash that claimed the life of Justin Settoon (29) of Ponchatoula, according to Ponchatoula Police Chief Bry Layrisson.The Ponchatoula Police Department reports that the August 29, 2017 crash occurred as Settoon was crossing W. Pine Street in the pedestrian crosswalk on his bicycle. Brunet failed to stop at the red traffic signal at the intersections of W. Pine and S. 8th streets and struck Settoon.
Settoon was transported to North Oaks Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries on the morning of August 30, 2017.
