BPD Traffic Stop and Pursuit Leads to 10 Charges

On Saturday, September 23, 2017, Officer Bryce Jarreau attempted to make a traffic stop on a vehicle with no license plate traveling on Florence Avenue. The vehicle would not stop and the pursuit went from Florence Avenue and then down Riverside Drive. The suspect vehicle failed to stop at the intersection of Sullivan drive and struck a vehicle causing the suspect vehicle to spin around about three times.
The driver, Detrich D. Magee (27) of Bogalusa, was apprehended and placed under arrest.  During the inventory and search of the vehicle, Officers observed a small blue pill, suspected Ecstacy in plain view in the drivers side door handle.
Magee was arrested and booked on the charges of Turning-Signal Required 100 Feet Prior to Turn, Speeding,  Disobeyed Stop Sign, Criminal Damage to Property, Aggravated Flight from an Officer, Possession of Ecstacy, Vehicle License Required, Reckless Operation of a Vehicle, No Insurance, and Driving While License is Suspended.
