Working on a tip, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff detectives went to the courthouse in Amite yesterday (August 23, 2017) and found Stephan Thomas (32) waiting patiently. Thomas, who was wanted by STPSO for a home invasion that occurred in Tickfaw in September of 2016 and by ATF on a weapons charge, was in court on unrelated charges. Oddly enough, while at the courthouse, detectives observed Deande Wheeler (22) who was wanted by TPSO on the charges of principle to second degree murder and accessory to second degree murder for his alleged participation in the murder of Leroy Sims III (19) on July 31,2017. Consequently, Wheeler was also taken into custody and transported to the parish jail for processing.
