Obituary

James Eugene Partman, Sr.
March 14, 1951 - August 25, 2017



“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”
II Timothy 4:7-8
James Eugene Partman, Sr. was born March 14, 1951 to the late Hubert Partman and Eula Partman of Warnerton, LA.
He was baptized at an early age. He attended Leary Hill and Hayes Creek M.B. Church.
He attended Washington Parish High School in Franklinton, LA, then went to Job Corps in San Antonio, TX and Portland, Oregon. He was certified as a Meat Cutter. He went to New Orleans and begin working at Schwagmann’s Bros Supermarket on St. Claude Street as an assistant meat market manager for 30 years.
Bro. James E. Partman, Sr. married June Barzon on June 26, 1982 and to this union two children were born, James E. “Sunny” Partman, Jr., and Jamie Partman.
Bro. James “Eugene” loved studying and discussing the Bible. He was ordained by Elder. Lenard Banks of Greater Full Gospel COGIC, 2626 Felicity Street, New Orleans, LA. Music was one of his favorite hobbies.
Rev. James E. Partman pastored New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Franklinton, LA, for about 2 years when his health began to fail. (Previous Pastor, Rev. Donald Smooth)
Bro. Partman was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Hubert and Eulan Partman; one sister, Carrie Mae Hoskins; two brothers, Hezekiah “Rich” Partman and Johnnie D. “John “Partman; one grandson, Recardo D. “Peanut” McGhee, Jr.
Bro. James E. Partman leaves to cherish his life memories, his loving wife of 35 years, June Partman; four daughters, Deborah George, Nicole George, Alana (Chris) Almond, and Jamie(Eric) Lampton, Sr.; one son, James E. (Felicia) Partman, Jr.; fifteen grandchildren, and one great grandchild; five sisters, Dorothy bickham, Ida Lee Sibley, Josephine (James) Warren, Sr. , Corrine (Billy) Watson, all of Franklinton, LA, and Charlene (Royal) Brock of Biloxi, MS; two brothers, Alfred “A.C.” (Brenda) Partman, Sr., Nathaniel (Mary) PArtman of Franklinton, LA; one sister-in-law, Shirley Partman; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 9:00 a.m.- 10:00 a.m. with Funeral Services following 10:00 a.m. at Crain and Sons Funeral Home Franklinton, LA at 2000 Washington Street, Franklinton, LA. Rev. James Bickham, Sr.- Pastor Officiating . Crain and Sons Funeral Home of Franklinton in charge of arrangements
