Ashley Harvey Alford, wanted in Walthall County for accessory after-the-fact of murder, was taken into custody Tuesday (August 8, 2017) by the U.S. Marshall Fugitives Task Force. The Walthall County Sheriff's Office report of the capture did not include where she was found or other details of the arrest, only that she is being transported back to Walthall County.
Alonza Glen Mays was murdered August 5, 2016 and found face-down in a ditch off Firetower Road in Tylertown. Donnifer Peters of Tylertown was charged with first-degree murder. Alford of Jayess, Ms. was initially charged with burglary of a vehicle and felony possession of a firearm. The additional charge of accessory after-the-fact to first-degree murder was added shortly afterwards.
