Slidell Police made an arrest last night (July 12, 2017 for the armed robbery at American Cash Advance, which occurred Monday (July 10, 2017) afternoon. Tips came in that led SPD to identify and secure an arrest warrant for David Closson (33) of Slidell for armed robbery. Detectives had reliable information that Closson was hiding out in the New Orleans area.
With the assistance of the Louisiana State Police and the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs Police, Closson was arrested without incident in New Orleans. Closson was booked as a fugitive at the Orleans Parish Jail and transported back to the Slidell City Jail.
Closson was cooperative and stated he committed the robbery in order to fuel his drug habit. Closson is also a suspect in several property crimes within St. Tammany Parish.
