Tommie Lou Brumfield Stafford
June 15, 1946 - July 29, 2017



TOMMIE LOU BRUMFIELD STAFFORD, AGE 71 passed away Saturday afternoon July 29, 2017. She was a longtime resident of Enon where she was an active member of Enon Baptist Church. Tommie Lou taught Sunday school from the college age down to the toddler class through the years and was a former leader of the GA’s and a member of WMU. After graduating from Franklinton High School, she received her Bachelor’s Degree of Education from LSU. Tommie Lou taught high school math at Bowling Green School for 45 years, impacting the lives of countless students and faculty throughout the school. She was also the student council sponsor for many years and drove the school bus for over 15 years. Tommie Lou was a member of the Shasta Club. She enjoyed reading and following LSU sports but the time spent with her grandsons and family was her most cherished pastime.
Survived by: 2 Daughters and Sons in law: Valarie Stafford Comeaux and John Comeaux of Franklinton, Julie Stafford Maddox and Jason Maddox of Winter Garden, FL; 6 Grandsons: Connor Stafford Comeaux, Crockett Athan Comeaux, Cody Hollis Comeaux, Aiden Christopher Maddox, Ashton Stafford Maddox, Anderson Hollis Maddox; 4 Sisters and Brothers in law: Susan Griggs of Central, Jeanette and Willie Fay Cooper of Pineville, Delores Jenkins of Franklinton, Bobbie and Larry Miller of Denham Springs; Brother and Sister in law: Murdock and Kira Brumfield of Franklinton; Brothers in law and Sisters in law: Randy and Debbie Stafford of Franklinton, Barbara and Cliff Cutchall of Texarkana, TX, Cindy and W.E. Knight of Franklinton; Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, her church family at Enon Baptist Church and her beloved Bowling Green family.
She was preceded in death by her husband Hollis “Pete” Stafford, III, her parents Athan Brumfield and Freddie Ingram Brumfield, a brother Durwood Brumfield, an infant sister and father in law and mother in law Hollis Stafford, Jr. and Olive Stafford.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Monday July 31st from 5 pm until 9 pm. Visitation will continue Tuesday at Enon Baptist Church from 9 am until 11 am. A funeral service will be held in the church at 11 am Tuesday with Rev. Chris Wheeler, Rev. Dean Register and Rev. Edmond Long officiating. Burial will follow in the Knight Memorial Gardens in Enon.
Pallbearers are nephews Colter Brumfield, Kade Brumfield, Chet Cooper, Clay Cooper, Jeffery Jenkins, Joey Griggs, Randall Stafford, Jason Stafford, David Stafford, Derrick Knight, Chad Miller, Troy Staton, Marc Jenkins
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to Enon Baptist Church or Bowling Green School c/o Tommie Lou Stafford Memorial Scholarship.
